My first ever ‘Performance Art’ piece. I had upcycled some shoes with resin remnants, ring pulls and a repurposed lighthouse charm. I wore them for the preview event then strategically placed one on the steps of the Minories and one outside Firstsite Gallery (close to midnight).
The concept being that we are running out of time- Cinderella style. We need to turn the tide on plastic waste now, before it is too late. Shoes have always been my ‘preview event’ signature style so this seemed most ‘fitting'. I have entitled work ‘If the Shoe Fits’.
